FIELDS OF USE
It is particularly suitable for outdoor use to protect and preserve window fixtures, balconies, fences, panelling and beams, as well as indoors where it provides effective protection against various biological agents. It does not form a film that is subject to flaking or cause surface blisters or cracks, so does not require sanding or stripping during subsequent treatment. It is decorative and enhances the grain of even the most ordinary types of wood.
It maintains the durability of ready to use colours that can be mixed together to obtain new shades in order to meet various aesthetic requirements.
APPLICATION
It is the ideal wood stain, especially for wood that belongs to the conifer family. It should be applied to new, seasoned and dry wood, or to wood that has been previously treated with wood stain. Mix thoroughly using a paint stir stick and apply a large amount of product, as is, following the grain of the wood.
The treated surface does not require further finishing; however, to enhance its aesthetic appearance we recommend that you apply a final coat of clear XILOFOND CERA. The recommended amount to apply to obtain the maximum protection against weathering and parasites is 150 g/m². The pigmented product is recommended for outdoor use in which the transparent iron oxides reduce UV light absorption. When applying XILOFOND wood stain, as with all solvent-based products, we recommend that you make sure that the area is adequately ventilated.
